Workshop Manager

SUMMARY:
Our client in the Engineering industry is urgently looking to employ an experienced Workshop Manager with experience in a fabrication workshop.

POSITION INFO:

Location: Industries East, Germiston

Requirements: If you do not meet the requirements for the role, your application will not be considered

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a fabrication workshop(Non-Negotiable)
• 2 years management experience at foreman or manager level
• Must be a qualified artisan (preferably as boilermaker or welder) or alternatively holding an N6 or other tertiary engineering qualification.
• Must have a good understanding of South Africa’s Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Must have the ability to work within an ISO 9001 environment.
• Basic computer skills for the compilation of reports and other documentation
• Must have experience in dealing with suppliers and sub-contractors.
• Must be willing to work outside normal hours when required.

Responsibilities:

• Procurement and maintenance of welding, boiler making, and associated equipment
• Recruitment and management of shop floor employees
• Ability to read CAD drawings and use them to manufacture fabrications and assemblies
• Planning of shop floor activities ensuring that labour and parts/materials supply are coordinated.
• Meeting manufacturing deadlines.
• Reporting to the General Manager
