Workshop Manager

SUMMARY:
Workshop Manager with proven skills in heavy and Industrial/ Mining/Petrochemical and Trucks required at one of our well established clients. Our Client renders services to clients in SA and African Countries. Maintenance and refurbishment Workshop Management. We need a professional and well experienced Manager who can work under pressure.

Position: Workshop Manager: Heavy Machinery and Trucks

Location: Johannesburg

Well established database of clients in Africa and abroad

Qualifications (Requirements):

• Mechanical / Technical Qualification

Experience:

• 3-5 years’ experience in a Workshop environment as a Manager of a repair and rebuild Workshop
• Proven skills on repairs and rebuilding of Heavy Industrial machines/ Equipment suitable for clients in the Mining, construction or related fields.
• Proven skills in managing the Workshop as well as managing the rebuild/repairs contractors 
• Proven skills in managing qualified Artisans and other workshop staff.
• Proven managerial skills on the OHSA and ability to ensure OHSA requirements for the workshop are met.
• Must have proven skills to analyse repairs and fulfil all the asset management functions.
• Experience in planning and financial forecasts
• Administrative Managerial skills 

Responsibilities 

• Manage and ensure repairs are diagnosed accurately and within variations and repeat visits
• Monitor and manage client expectations.
• Maintain approved contractor list 
• Must be available after hours for emergencies
• Ensure that all pre-and-post inspections of services were done
• Ensure that quotes, payment of invoices are done in time
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets
• Ensure programmes are within budgetary constraints 
• Monitor and report on performances, identifying trends and implement improvements 
• Report writing to management
• Management of staff
• Conduct and attend meetings at clients, Head office and in the Workshop.
