Workshop General Manager (Mechanical Engineer)

We are looking for General Manager for our client's workshop based in Centurion. You will be responsible for planning, co-ordinating and directing staff as well as overseeing daily operations and quality control. This position is multi faceted and you will be using your technical know how, leadership skills and interpersonal intelligence. 

Your duties will include but aren't limited to:

• Planning, coordinating and directing activities to staff
• Oversee daily operations
• Making sure components are repaired and built to the highest standard. ensure quality is checked
• Documentation from part design to fabrication and final assembly
• You will deal with raw material, component manufacturing and outsourcing, equipment’s, people resources and administrative processes such as stock ordering and management
• Managing the Machine Shop ensuring planning, machine setup, precise measurements and safety is upheld
• Cost and Expenses management
• Manage Process Efficiencies
• Analyse and adjust work schedules and other personnel matters
• Solve production problems & handle quality issues
• Manage customer interactions
• Employee training and skill development and handle disciplinary issues
• Making sure operations align with company policies and procedures

Requirements:

• Tertiary engineering qualification (Mechanical preferred)
• Fully bilingual in both English and Afrikaans
• Demonstrated leadership experience
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with customers, suppliers and employees across all levels, including sales and marketing, engineering, maintenance and human resources.
• A thorough understanding of machining processes, equipment technology, shop procedures and how to read drawings.
• Knowledge safety and health regulations with regard to safe use of machine tools is also necessary.
• SA Drivers License
• A SA citizen 
• Own reliable transport
• Willingness to travel to suppliers
