Workshop Foreman

SUMMARY:
A well established manufacturing company in East Rand is seeking to hire a professional Workshop Foreman to their family.

POSITION INFO:

Duties:

• Support the Workshop Manager in a constructive manner, ensuring that the internal department relationships are properly maintained.
• Motivate the workshop staff through sound leadership.Give clear direction to all staff.
• Promote a sense of wellbeing and apply the belief of "care and growth".
• Apply strict measure to the company^l s SHE policy at all times.
• Install a culture of safety first. Ensure safety meetings are met weekly including reports which are included as addendums to company policy.
• Condition report to be kept of all special tools, equipment and workshop equipment. Report to Workshop Manager on defective load equipment, such as overhead cranes, jacks and trestles'' and other lifting devices.
• Build sound relationships with parts staff.
• Build sound relationships with sublet suppliers.
• Ensure Best Practices are always applied. Proper housekeeping, in and around the facility, O Be conscious of cost saving.
• Establish a culture of ''waste not-want not"
• Keep the staff well informed of change within the company.
• Be firm — But fair
• Share product information, make use of all electronic media and notice boards. Product bulletins etcetera.

Qualities:

• Accurate control of all productive staff, Ensure that the daily job load is evenly.
• Spread to all the technicians. Apply sound principles of fairness and encourage teamwork daily.
• Measure all levels of outputs, such as productivity, efficiency and throughput,
• Accurately forecast on all measures in the workshop, Including oil/lube sales and volumes.         
• Be conscious of all labour activities; ensure idle time is kept to the minimum.
• Ensure that all vehicles are properly road tested and quality controls performed on each vehicle. Ensure the job card accurately describes all work performed and all job cards are signed by both technician and foreman.
• Wash bay activities. The wash bay is the last most important section of your service delivery process.
• You need to ensure, with your Manager that the staff and or sub contractecl people are committed and fully procluctive at all times.
• Discuss with the Workshop Manager, clocument a process which can be effectively implemented.
• SHE: adhere to company policy
• Up sell the job card, make sure that every opportunity to earn from a job card is exhausted.
• Then deliver on the quotation with the highest job quality and priority, Every customer is important.
• Ensure that all warranty claims are correctly diagnosed in terms of the 3 C^l s. Complaint, Cause and Correction.

• Warranty photo submission must be taken as per company policies and relating to warranty work performed. Work with the technicians to ensure that this process is procedures adhered to at all times.

• Continuously seek growth opportunities within the workshop.
• Discuss with the workshop Manager and implement were relevant. Document this process to ensure that there is clarity too all staff.
• Ensure that all workshop staff- technical and non-technical have equal opportunity to develop and grow in their job functions.
• Ensure that each staff member has correct PPE and has attended an induction course.
• Continuously drive positive behaviorisms, such as pride in the work performed. No comebacks and unnecessary delays in work execution.
• All labour related matters must be discussed with Workshop Manager and HR Department.
• Minimize overtime by ensuring quality outputs during normal working hours.
• Any warranty claim older than 7 working days must be reported to the Workshop Manager for corrective action.
• Ensure maximum attendance of all staff at all times.
• Correctly schedule stand—by technicians and assistants, together with Manager, ensure that all staff is clearly aware of the schedule. Pin new schedule to the notice board were all staff can clearly see their time slots.
• Ensure high levels of communication and feedback to the Service Advisor ensuring the customer is relayed relevant and concise information.
• Ensure that the type of feedback to the Service Advisor is relevant and correct.
• Continue to promote the company as a trustworthy and reliable brand.
• Pursue the philosophy of ''customer is king''
