SUMMARY:
Our client in Edenvale, Johannesburg has a position for a Workshop Charge Hand, to ensure that all vehicles within your area are operating efficiently and well maintained in accordance with company standards; ensure the efficient management, co-ordination and record-keeping of general maintenance activities;
POSITION INFO:
Ensuring that all vehicles that are scheduled, repaired and maintained are operating efficiently (Quality Control)
Ensuring that maintenance standards are in accordance with company standards
Ensuring that OHS Act standards are adhered to
Ensuring workshop is clean and reflective of company image at all times
Ensure staff comply with all company image and health and safety standards
General co-ordination, planning, scheduling and maintenance of vehicles
Ensuring that scheduled daily and monthly maintenance is planned and done on vehicles
Ensuring all maintenance schedules and registers are compiled and adhered to
Ensuring asset and parts registers are current and accurate
Communication between the Customers and the Workshop
Welding of various steel structures and general painting
Maintaining hydraulic systems
Maintenance of vehicles where required
Overall care and maintenance of company assets
Liaising with suppliers and placing of orders where applicable
Supervising General Workers and workshop staff
General repair work as required
Paperwork completed along company guidelines – on time and accurate
Adherence to and enforcement of all company processes and procedures
- Minimum Grade 12 / N2, preferably N3 or higher technical qualification
- Minimum five years general commercial vehicle experience essential
- Trade Test / National Qualification preferred
- Code EC or C (Code 14) Driver’s License preferred
- Auto-electrical, electrical and hydraulic knowledge / experience preferred
