Workshop & Field Technician

SUMMARY:
Exciting new opportunity as Workshop and Field Service Technician - mechanical and electrical experience working on pumps and motors

POSITION INFO:

Job Description:

• 3-5 years’ experience working in a service workshop
• Will be required to do in workshop and field services
• Forklift operating for moving stock and repairs around will be required
• Experience in managing of staff such as workshop assistants
• Good time keeping is essential.
• Must be able to follow existing procedures and implement new policies and procedures in the workshop
• Must know and adhere to all Health and Safety requirements in the Workshop
• Candidate must be able to liaise with customers in a professional and courteous manner. He will be contacting customers to discuss fault finding and servicing of their pumps and also to inform them when their pumps will be serviced / repaired and delivered back to the client
• Candidate must be capable of creating a job card and quoting.
• Candidate will travel to clients to do on sight servicing and repairs
• Must be able to work with people
• Must know basic conditions of employment and adhere to them when dealing with staff
• Will be required to work overtime when necessary
• Must be willing to learn more skills and do training
• Must be able to complete a task in reasonable and required time.
• GOOD PLANNING ABILITIES OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE – will be maintaining an electronic workshop board
• Must have a good understanding of stock and spares levels.
• Must think and be PROACTIVE
• He will be reporting to the Branch Manager of CPT
• Must be able to work as a team player
• Travel overseas may be required for training
• Travel to our branches in DBN, JHB and PE may be required from time to time
  

Education:  Minimum Requirements

• Minimum Grade 12 or N6
• Trade as Millwright or Fitter & Turner
• Forklift driving experience / license will be to the candidate’s advantage.

Job Experience & Skills Required:

• Must be deadline driven
• Must be computer literate in Microsoft Office and Pastel.
