Wet End Operator - Chemical Manufacturing Industry

SUMMARY:
A well-known international company requires the above to ensure that the Wet End section of the Plant is operated according to standard operating procedures within this Chemical Manufacturing Company.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Tertiary qualification / Diploma in Chemical Engineering or related qualification is essential.
• Previous experience having worked within a Wet End operating role in a Chemical Processing Manufacturing environment is essential.
• NQF Level 3 chemical continuous field operation role experience, working within a Chemical and or related Manufacturing Plant is essential.
• The successful candidate must have excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Must be computer literate in Microsoft Office, and a knowledge of SAP would be an advantage.
• Must understand and relate to maintenance and safety within a plant.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Run and control Wet End systems to ensure that the Dry End system rate is maintained.
• Stop and start Wet End systems according to (SOPS), performs inspections in Wet End area and direct any deviations to the Foreman for resolution.
• Maintain good housekeeping practices in all Wet End areas, perform system fault finding and address problems when identified.
• Maintain and report defects on equipment and unsafe conditions to The Plant Foreman and make the system safe.
• Performs special, emergency or other tasks on request by the Foreman or appointed Supervisor.
• Liaise with Dry End operator to ensure continuous operation of all sections.
• Take Wet End samples according to sample schedule or at the Foreman’s instruction.
• Actively participate in constantly improving Plant and individual safety and housekeeping.
