Welding Technician

SUMMARY:
We have an opportunity available as a Welding Technician that will be operating Plasma Transferred Arc (PTA) and laser cladding machines (appropriate training will be provided but proper understanding of welding methods and materials is required) Technician will be expected to operate robotic machinery to carry out welding work.

POSITION INFO:

Job Description:

• Welding Technician reports to the Laser Cladding Manager
• Operation of Plasma Transferred Arc and laser cladding machines
• Building of basic tooling / repair of basic tooling for company’s workshops
• Technician must be able to operate independently once training is completed
  

Education:  Minimum Requirements

• NQF Level 4 SAQA registered welder’s certificate
• Matric (Grade 12)
• SAIW “Practical Welding” course or similar
• Exposure to ISO 3834

Job Experience & Skills Required:

• Based in Johannesburg or Pretoria.
• Minimum 2 years previous work experience as a welder.
• Own Transport (vehicle and driver’s license)
