POSITION INFO:

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Web development for approximately 5-7 websites 
• Write efficient code for website and software application
• Use scripting or authoring languages, management tools, content creation tools, applications, and digital media
• Determine user needs by analysing technical requirements
• Create websites website using standard HTML and CSS practices Constant communication with other teams’ in the business to develop and deploy content and ensure there is a clear establishment of what can be created within what timeframe
• Develop content criteria, edit, write, or design website content and strive to create visually appealing websites that feature user friendly design and clear navigation
• Identify problems uncovered when testing, and correcting problems
• Develop or validate test routines and schedules to ensure that test cases mimic external interfaces and address all browser and device types
• Research different software programs, maintain software documentation
• Develop and or implement contingency plans in case a website goes down
• Maintain and expand or enhance the website once built
• Evaluate code to ensure it meets industry standards, is valid, is properly structured, and is compatible with browsers, devices, or operating systems
• Backup files from websites to local directories for recovery

REQUIREMENTS:

• Thorough functional knowledge and coding experience
• E-commerce website knowledge, skill & expertise essential
• UX layout advantageous
• Strong understanding of UI, cross browser compatibility, general web functions and standards
• Knowledge of Search Engine Optimisation HTML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript
• Maintain an understanding of the latest Web applications and programming practices through education, study, and participation in conferences, workshops, and groups
• Strong grasp of security principles and how they apply to eCommerce applications
