SUMMARY:
Manage and oversee all warehouse activities, ensure efficient processes and maximize warehouse productivity. Responsibilities include supervising employees, coordinating logistical processes, ensuring the quality of goods and preparing relevant documentation.

POSITION INFO:

This position is pivotal to the business and reports directly to the Commercial Director (CA).

Position details:

Type: Permanent
Reports to: Commercial Director (CA) with 10 direct reports
Primary purpose: Manage and oversee all warehouse activities, ensure efficient processes and maximize warehouse productivity. Responsibilities include supervising employees, coordinating logistical processes, ensuring the quality of goods and preparing relevant documentation. Ultimately to ensure that daily operations meet and exceed daily performance expectations and to increase the company’s overall market share.
Job description / core competencies:

• Identify customer and supplier inquiries and complaints and make appropriate recommendations for corrective solutions to meet their needs and expectations.
• Execute all store activities and operations with respect to organizational SOPs and standards.
• Identify areas of improvement, optimize employee workflow and establish innovative or adjust existing work procedures and practices, including the development of cost reduction procedures.
• Achieve high levels of customer satisfaction through excellence in receiving, identifying, dispatching and assuring quality of goods.
• Determine and track most important stores KPIs and report the effectiveness of warehousing activities and employees’ performance.
• Organize and maintain inventory and storage area.
• Ensure inbound and outbound shipments and inventory transactions’ accuracy.
• Ensure basic maintenance standards and compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Maintain records, report relevant information and prepare any necessary documentation.
• Communicate and coordinate with other departments and customers.
• Track and coordinate the receipt, storage and timely delivery of goods and materials.
• Track expenses related to fuel, storage and truck maintenance.
• Train, guide and evaluate stores personnel.
• Coordinate and maintain fleets and equipment.

Job Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

Academic qualifications:

• Grade 12
• Driver’s license
• Forklift license (advantageous)

Experience:

• 7 years appropriate experience in a stock centralised environment
• MS Office proficiency and understanding of hardware configuration

Knowledge, skills & abilities:

• Good working knowledge of general stores procedures
• Milestone reporting with defined deliverables at each stage of a project
• Outstanding verbal and written communications skills
