POSITION INFO:

A warehouse manager position has become available at our City Deep facility.

OVERALL FUNCTION

To control, through management of staff, the daily movement of product into and from the store, the storage thereof as per customer instructions, ensuring that staff adheres to laid down procedures and instructions, while maintaining the required quality and operational standards and ensuring the correct usage of handling equipment.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• The smooth running of Operations through proper planning
• Elimination of errors or damage to product and handling all operational problems
• Optimal usage of resources, including staff, equipment and pallets
• Control of departmental costs and providing input to budgets and reviews
• Monthly reporting on key operational areas
• Management, discipline and developing of staff
• Ensure compliance with Company’s Management System
• Ensure maintenance of ISO, YUM, PPECB and other certification
• Handling customer queries
• Maintaining high standard of housekeeping and safety

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

• A relevant tertiary qualification in logistics / operations would be advantageous
• At least 5 years management  experience in an operational environment
• Above average communication skills - verbal and written
• Above average numerical skills
• Above average abstract reasoning skills
• Computer literate : MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook at intermediate level
• Knowledge of a Warehouse Management System (SAP will be  advantageous)
• Knowledge of  ISO, YUM, PPECB and other certification
• Experience in handling Disciplinary Enquiries
