SUMMARY:
Our client is well-established butchery business in George. currently recruiting a receiving and dispatching controller to join their team at the factory.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Duties include but not limited to:

Organize freezer and refrigeration space, loading docks and storerooms prior to deliveries
Ensure world class hygiene practices and housekeeping of refrigerated spaces
Keep receiving area clean and well lit
Compare delivery invoice against products ordered and products delivered.
Maintains an inventory of stock on hand of both short-term storage and that which is replenished as needed
Maintains responsibility for securing and arranging the storage of stock and the pulling of stock for issue
Transfer foods to their appropriate locations as quickly as possible
Inspect the delivery truck when it arrives to ensure that it is clean, free of putrid odours and organized to prevent cross-contamination. Be sure refrigerated foods are delivered on a refrigerated truck.
Check the interior temperature of refrigerated trucks
Check frozen foods to ensure that they are all frozen solid and show no signs of thawing and refreezing, such as the presence of large ice crystals or liquids on the bottom of cartons
Check the temperature of refrigerated foods
check dates of goods to ensure safety and quality
Check the integrity of food packaging
Supervise employees involved in loading and unloading materials, checking invoices, pulling stock, operating material handling equipment and other delivery duties

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Knowledge of the principles and practices of receiving, loading and dispatching in the food manufacturing industry
Knowledge of HACCP - GMP - Good manufacturing practices and procedures
Knowledge of inventory methods and procedures
Knowledge of the principles and practices of supervision
Ability to receive materials by following standard principles and practices
Ability to maintain current inventory records
Ability to keep records and reports

this is a physical position and requires that the successful candidate be physical fit and able to pick up heavy boxes
Must be flexible and assist in various outlets as required
