Description:
The Waiter is responsible food and beverages in the Restaurant, Room Service and, if required, Function areas in a friendly, fast and efficient manner. The position is primarily concerned with two main functional activities: front of house and stock.

Responsibilities:

  • Reports to the Food and Beverage Supervisor
  • Directly supervises, supports and evaluates the performance of the subordinate positions within the Restaurant
  • Must posses a solid knowledge of all menu items and be able to describe them to Guests, suggesting various courses as well as have pairing knowledge (wines, whiskeys, gins etc)
  • Pays a close attention to Guest needs and reports their special requests or complaints to the Food and Beverage Manager
  • Excellent communication with the kitchen team
Requirements:
  • Formal hospitality training - a diploma from a recognised hotel school/ university or international equivalent is beneficial
  • Minimum of 2-3 years previous experience in restaurant environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and good command of the English language (written and spoken), knowledge of additional languages is a plus
  • Proactive in keeping up to date with food and beverage trends
  • Working knowledge on point of sales systems
  • Solid Food and Beverage knowledge
