Wage Clerk, Prospecton, Durban area

POSITION INFO:

Our client is seeking an experienced Wage Clerk to join their team in Prospecton, Durban area

Minimum requirements:

• Matric
• 2+ years working experience within the same or similar role
• Sage VIP Payroll Course
• Experience in weekly wages working with multiple branches
• Working hours:  Monday-Thursday 07:30 – 16:30 and Fridays:  07:30 – 16:00
• Own transport
• Experience working on Excel
• Ability to work under pressure

Duties will include but is not limited to:

• Sage VIP doing weekly wages for +/- 280 employees, working at 7 branches
• Preparing monthly wage reports and submit to relevant departments
• Enters new employees on the system using the appropriate authorised documentation
• Terminates employees on the system using the appropriate authorised documentation
• Maintains changes to employee personal data on receipt of relevant documentation
• Files documents in the appropriate files      
• Resolves employee / line manager wage related queries
• Maintain income and deductions
• Retrieves hours worked from electronic clocking system                
• Capture data on wage system
• Update sick leave on excel
• Enters bonusses / rate changes in accordance with the relevant procedure
• Receives relevant deduction forms (eg medical aid, loans) and enters deductions against the deduction codes
• Payroll processing
• Prepares payroll distribution sheets and distributes payslips
• Submits manual payment schedule to Cash Book Clerk
• Maintains a file of all changes done on the payroll
• Advises Cash Book Clerk to release electronic payments
