SUMMARY:
Wage Administrator Process payroll; conduct reporting & administration, and administer IOD’s

POSITION INFO:
Qualification, Experience and Technical Requirement

  • Matric Certificate
  • Minimum of 2 - 3 years’ experience as a wage administrator / clerk within the construction industry SAGE
  • would be an advantage)
  • Knowledge of the Basic Conditions of Employment Act
  • Knowledge of PAYE tax calculations
  • Knowledge of UIF and other benefits requirements and regulations
  • Knowledge of industry relate financial and legal regulations
  • Knowledge of FEM, COID and IOD processes and payments
  • Knowledge of pension and provident fund calculations and tax implications
Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook (Including, creating spreadsheets, utilising data bases and doing word processing, etc.)
  • Excellent command of English language (reading, writing and communicating) – Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to deal responsibly with confidential information
  • Planning, organizing, prioritizing and Time management skills are important
  • Proficient in analysing numerical, verbal and other sources of information to provide solutions and Reports
Roles and Responsibilities
Payroll
  • Enter employee time worked into payroll system
  • Maintain and administer employee earnings information
  • Maintain and administer applicable deductions
  • Monitor changes in tax status of employees
  • Process and distribute payments
  • Process period-end adjustments
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries
Reporting and Administration
  • Print detailed costing report (all earning and company distributions to all cost centres within
  • organization) from Sage Payroll and forward to site clerks for costing
  • Print monthly earning and deduction reports from Sage Payroll, to be kept on record
  • Extract and Print Pension reports, balance and forward to Financial Manager
  • Understanding of IRP5 parameter blocks

 Injuries on Duty (IOD)
o Maintain employee information on IOD’s (what happened, why injured on duty, accident report
and doctors report)
o Respond to requests for information from FEM or medical doctors
