SUMMARY:
Workshop Team Leader position available in the Kempton Park area for a well established Material Handling / Industrial equipment supplier company.

• Education / Training:

o Tertiary qualification in Engineering or Business Management or equivalent technical qualification (trade)

• Experience:

o Proven and relevant experience and success in a management / team leader position in the material handling or related industry; minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar position

Required Certificates, Licences, Registrations: Licences, Registrations:

• Grade 12 or N3

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering or Business Management or equivalent technical qualification • Mechanical, Hydraulic or Electrical qualification or trade certificate

• Code 8 driver''s licence

Key Performance Areas: (Essential Duties & Responsibilities)

• Overall responsibility to manage Workshop Department Personnel (bi-annual performance appraisals per staff member, payroll information to be compiled and submitted timeously, monthly departmental meetings, achieving employee morale survey target, managing leave and absenteeism, implementing and driving ISO and ASEC Standards in line with company strategic objectives, ensure effective inter[1]departmental and internal communication).

• Sound management of Maintenance and Workshop in line with budget and company strategic objectives (Work in progress, work scheduling, quality of work, quote accuracy, profitability of service and workshops department, profitability of contracts etc)

• Overall responsibility to ensure quality customer service of the Maintenance & Workshop, to ensure optimum response time and professional service at all times. (Through the evaluation of Workshop Technician’s training needs and ensuring lack of knowledge / skills are addressed.)

• Ensure regular feedback to the department staff keeping everyone up to date with company news, market trends and other relevant information.

• Overall responsibility to ensure the Workshop team follows administrative procedures correctly.

• Ensure OHSACT, ISO and ASEC requirements are met on premises and that all regulations are adhered to.

• Drive customer service excellence.

• Development and implementation of operational innovation.

• Maintain and promote good housekeeping best practices in the Workshop.

• Timeously submit daily time sheets and job cards after job completion, report on all outstanding work in progress and labour recoveries against set targets weekly.

• Work together with the workshop administrator to ensure quotations are compiled within 24hours, and all supplier daily invoices are managed and processed in accordance with company policy.

• Manage and reduce any excess overtime
