POSITION INFO:

Experienced WordPress Developer who can build new, modern and compliant websites from scratch. It''s imperative that you have a thorough understanding of search engine optimisation and the implementation thereof.

 The ideal candidate is a creative problem solver who, with the help of the team, will design, develop, and maintain our next-generation websites and web tools and is skilled in PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and aesthetics (understanding element arrangements on the screen, the colour and font choices, and so on). The candidate should have a strong understanding of industry trends and content management systems. Experience with responsive and adaptive design is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Develop new, modern and compliant websites from scratch.
• Maintain and update existing websites
• Own various design tasks involved in the web development life cycle from start to finish
• Producing sample sites
• Meeting with clients to discuss requirements and/or project progress
• Demonstrating and receiving feedback about draft sites
• Keeping up to date with recent technological and software developments
• Developing skills and expertise in appropriate software/programming languages such as HTML and Javascript
• Creating products that are user-friendly, effective, and appealing
• Basic understanding of SEO and the implementation thereof.

Requirements:

• B.Sc. (Computer Science) or similar
• 3+ years’ experience in a similar role
• Solid understanding of: HTML/ CSS, PHP, JavaScript
• Solid experience with WordPress theming and plugins.
• UI experience will be advantageous.
• Residing in Cape Town
• SA Citizen
