SUMMARY:
A busy steel trading company requires an energetic and hands on person to oversee the full function of receiving and dispatching.Knowledge of the mild steel merchanting industry is essential for this position.

POSITION INFO:

A busy steel trading company requires an energetic and hands on person to oversee the full function of receiving and despatching.

Qualifications:

• Grade 12 / equivalent

Experience and Requirements:

• At least 5 years steel industry experience
• Computer literate on Ms Office Suite and Syspro
• Own Transport and a valid driver’s licence
• Have a stable work record and contactable references
• Weighbridge experience is critical
• Export related experience will be an advantage

Duties and responsibilities:

• Oversee the entire warehouse and logistics function.
• Manage the warehouse supervisors and all subordinate staff.
• Handle all HR related issues for all staff under your control.
• Oversee the receiving of stock into the warehouse.
• Ensure the warehouse layout is always adhered to.
• Ensure bin and locations are always adhered to.
• Ensure goods received are per order and specification.
• Ensuring supply of the products are actioned per the company procedures and

authorised as required.

• Ensure that despatched stock is  loaded accurately and are checked as per company systems.
• Oversee and action daily stock checks.
• Plan and coordinate the team, in accordance with the defined objectives and procedures and carrying out the relevant follow ups
• Train, develop and motivate staff.
• Ensure fulfilment of established deadlines of all required actions.
• Oversee the OHS requirements within your department.
• Ensure housekeeping is practiced daily.
• Ensure the company bar coding system is practised as per company workflow.
• Accumulation and authorisation of biweekly wage hours
• Coordinate and plan nightshift and overtime activities
• Monitor asset utilisation and improve efficiencies.
