POSITION INFO:
Are you a dynamic Vineyard Manager that is responsible and enjoys being the go-to person? This dynamic well-known wine farm is seeking to employ a respectful team player that can lead and add value to their already successful team. This position includes a 2 bedroom house on the farm PLUS transport. The ideal candidate will reside on the farm and the position is based in the Cape Winelands area.
Duties:
You will manage and schedule viticultural activities to maintain healthy and productive vines. You will oversee the cultivation, thinning, pruning, tying, suckering, canopy management, planting and replanting, irrigating, and harvesting.
An excellent communicator that can manage a team in a respectful manner. Specific instructions and planning given by the winemaker/owner and your excellent listening skills together with your execution of instructions will make you successful.
Experienced in farming grapes for premium wine, managing vineyard staff, transporting of staff, maintaining the equipment, managing the farm''s gardens and the gardeners, maintaining all the facilities, and general maintenance. This is a hands-on position for a farmer with relevant experience and education.
