Veterinarian / Farm Production Veterinarian

SUMMARY:
Our client, a foods product supplier, based Vereeniging is to hire a qualified and experienced Production Veterinarian. This opportunity will require you to have 10+ years’ experience and preference will be given to candidates with large animal or farm animal experience.

POSITION INFO:

Veterinarian Job Responsibilities:

• Provide veterinary services for dairy, beef, horses, swine, goats, and sheep.
• Herd checking
• Administering medicines, checkups, and surgeries.
• Experience working in animal hospitals work with different animals and do farm visits where the service is needed.
• Total production medicine, care and evaluation, records and analysis, and sometimes consulting on barn designs and building.
• Maintains animal health by diagnosing and treating diseases and injuries.
• Determines the nature of disease or injury by examining pets and/or large animals.
• Restores animal health by treating animals surgically or medically.
• Prevents rabies, brucellosis, and other disorders by testing animals and providing inoculations.
• Promotes health of animals by advising animal owners about sanitation measures, feeding, and general care.
• Documents actions by completing and updating forms, reports, and animal records and reporting diseases to public health officials.
• Enhances clinic reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
