Utilities Manager (Rosebank)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Requirements/Skills:

vExperience in billing and utilities.
vGood maths and problem solving skills.
vAble to train and supervise others.
vAdvanced MS Office experience & MDA.
vBasic understanding of computer operations and accounting.
vStrong internal and external communication abilities and build good relationships with Municipalities, Property Managers and the rest of the team.
vMatric plus 5 years’ experience and relevant tertiary qualification.

 

Key Tasks:

ØCouncil Accounts:
vCheck and approve council accounts for billing.
vDo follow ups with COJ and City Power with problems accounts.
ØCustomer Relations:
vBulk council meter replacements and repairs.
vInform operations Managers and Property Managers of faulty or damaged meters once the report from readers and follow up on process, meters to be replaced/repaired before next bill run.
vTenant and council queries.
vLiaise with municipality, clients, service provider & with tenants.
ØCorrespondence:
vHistoric refunds – council.
vCouncil visits and site visits.
vArrange site meetings for the technical team.
vSource external waste companies’ invoices and update refuse schedules, load on MDA once done.
vLiaises with Operations and Property Managers.
vInvestigates variances and questions on municipal accounts.
vResearches and resolves discrepancies.
vRelease accounts on system for approval (Only when queries arise).
vIdentify and address expenditure abnormalities with council.
vIdentifies income abnormalities.
vEnsures that Council Utilities accounts are properly reconciled and invoiced each Utilities cycle. Pulls and reviews Utilities status reports. Identifies and resolves Utilities problems or delays.
vAudits Utilities processes for accuracy and efficiency. Verifies reconciliations and explains or resolves variances.
vEnsures that reports, records, and related documentation are completed in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
vManage current expense files.
vRest of duties to be discussed @ interview or can be obtained from Talent Acquisition Consultant.
