SUMMARY:
A hospital in the north of Pretoria has a vacancy for a Theatre Unit Manager that will ensure a positive patient experience, through management and development of competent staff within the unit.

POSITION INFO:

Key responsibilities:

Ensure a safe and therapeutic patient environment by adhering to the Health & Safety standards in the unit
Identify and manage all risks within the Theatre
Compile and manage operational, staffing and capital budget
Staff management
Identify, investigate, report and address near-misses/adverse events
Build & maintain good relationships with the surgeons and representatives
Ensure cost effective management of stock and equipment

Requirements:

Nursing Diploma or Degree and SANC registered
Post basic Operating Theatre qualification (required)
Minimum of 2-3 yrs experience as Unit Manager within a Theatre
Sound knowledge of Theatre and CSSD policies and procedures
Ability to display sound judgement in problem solving
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong leadership skills
Computer proficiency
Demonstration of good organisational and time management skills
Ability to work hospital calls if/when required
