POSITION INFO:
We have a vacancy for an experienced Underwriter & Claims Handler (Commercial & Domestic) in our Piet Retief branch in Mpumalanga. The person should ideally be based in Piet Retief but if that is not possible, the person may be based at our client''s offices in Johannesburg
The position reports to the Branch Manager,The present team consists of the Branch Manager and one Underwriter/Claims Handler.
Job Specifications:
Afrikaans speaking, any gender
At least 10 years relevant Short Term Insurance experience in Commercial and Personal Lines, ideally having worked for a broker or a sizeable insurance company.
Must be Fit & Proper, i.e. must have passed the RE5 (Representatives) exam & must have the relevant FAIS credits. We’d like confirmation that the candidate is Fit & Proper:

Self-driven and able to work independently, within the Company policy framework.
Cost to Company package around R30 000 , negotiable depending on experience. See sample payslips attached
Compulsory membership of the Group Provident Fund: 50/50 contribution of 5% each, plus employer funded risk benefit.
Bi-annual annual Performance based bonuses, paid in June and December, provided the Company is in a position to pay bonuses.
15 working days annual leave, plus 6 days special leave per annum.
Working hours: Monday – Friday 08h30 – 16h00 with a 30 minutes lunch break.
