UX/UI Designer

Our client is currently working remotely, until it is safe for their employees to return to work.  The successful candidate will be virtually onboarded for now.
 
Job Purpose: 
The UI/UX designer works closely with the product owner and development team to ensure the product makes sense to the user.  The UI/UX Designer develops a clear understanding of user needs, is able to build wireframes and build prototypes aligned with the brand colour scheme.  The UI/UX designer is ultimately responsible for ease of use and logical flow of steps for the end user, improving the customer experience and increasing customer satisfaction.

POSITION INFO:

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: 

• Gather user requirements in collaboration with clients, stakeholders and product owners
• Design elegant solutions from requirements in collaboration with team members
• Wireframing and Prototyping of user journeys, interactions and design ideas
• Develop UI mock-ups and prototypes
• Prepare and present rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders
• Design graphic user interface and navigation elements, like menus, tabs, widgets and buttons
• Conduct layout and design adjustments based on user feedback
• Create final graphical designs and images for development and production
• Review general design, UI and Front-end work
• Help deliver on general design requirements for all visual assets including marketing campaigns, email templates, banners and presentations
• Maintain familiarity with the capabilities of various programming technologies (JavaScript, HTML/CSS, etc.) and their impact on development efforts, user interface possibilities, data accessibility, and compatibility across multiple versions of the same platform (web browsers, mobile OS, etc.)
• Constant, effective communication with users/stakeholders and the broader development team
• Must be able to gain an understanding of the business, current platform and technology and analytics capabilities

 
Skills and Qualifications 

• Tertiary qualification in Design related field
• 3+ years of relevant work experience
• Knowledge of accessibility considerations for design
• Experience with user-centred design that spans across web & mobile
• Knowledge of design trends
• Experience with a diverse set of software such as Adobe suite, InVision, Sketch, Illustrator, Photoshop or other design tools
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies beneficial
• Displays positive attitude
• Demonstrates flexibility in day-to-day work and open to feedback
• Self-motivated and proactive
• Enjoys working in a team and has a collaborative nature
• Able to think logical and objectively with the ability to think outside of the box and therefore see the bigger picture
• Comfortable working under pressure and successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
