UPS Field Service Engineer, Cape Town

SUMMARY:
5 Years experience with UPS field services, installations, repairs, commissioning and battery installations(Power Electronics with Heavy Current & Inverter fields)

This is an exciting opportunity that requires extensive travel, both nationally and abroad, and that will primarily focus on UPS field services, installations, repairs, commissioning and battery installations.

Requirements include a formal qualification in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience; a background in UPS, data centre operation, power electronics, field service work, strong customer orientation, AC and DC knowledge, electrical distribution systems knowledge as well as computer and project management skills.

Position details:

Type: Permanent
Reports to: Technical Manager
Primary purpose: UPS field services, installations, repairs, commissioning and battery installations.
Travel requirements: Extensive travelling, both national and abroad
Legal requirements: Drivers license, valid ID and passport
Job description / core competencies:

• AC and DC installation
• Fault finding and repair of UPS Systems internally and in the field.
• Battery replacement
• Site survey and electrical environment analysis
• Diagnostic of MCCs, VSDs, Power distribution (1st level)
• Compile site analysis report
• Build customer trust relationship
• Promote / sale company service offers
• Prepare monthly report related to service activity
• Participating in stand by service
• Extensive travelling national and abroad

Education level required: N-Dip Electrical Engineering or higher
Years and area of experience required: 5 years
