Primary Responsibilities

To ensure that Treasury function in SGS Southern Africa is fully compliant with Group Treasury processes and procedures.

Specific Responsibilities

• Manage the cash flow of the company, through collaboration with Business and other Finance processes, in order to determine funding requirements.
• Maintain cash flow forecasting.
• Maintain relationship with banks on changing legislations and requirements
• Open new/Amend existing bank facilities (including bank accounts after Group Treasury approval)
• Maintain and manage Citi credit cards.
• Ensure currency exposure is adequately hedged through FECs (liaising with Group Treasury for each FEC transaction).
• Review bank reconciliations on all accounts.
• Review exchange revaluations on all balance sheet accounts with foreign transactions (excluding Fixed Assets)
• Manage the intercompany Loans – this includes the interest accruals, and repayments, exchange control approvals and any other statutory mandatory requirements and ensure fully reconciled on monthly basis.
• Co-ordination for issue of any guarantees.
• Manage the pre-format setup of suppliers on Citibank.
• Maintain the authorized signatories, and resolutions thereon for access to all bank accounts and electronic platforms.
• IFRS reporting in HFM to Group
• Cash pooling to optimize the interest returns on the group bank accounts.
• Manage restricted cash (deposits) and track expiry of contracts for the recovery thereon.
• Responsible for dividend declaration and payout.
• Prompt payment of CFM and Royalties from Parent Company.
• Responsible to assess and address thin capitalization with the Regional Financial Controller.
• Optimize financial expenses (negotiation of fees) and Income (interest earning on money market wherever possible)
• Co-ordinate all treasury functions.
• Authorised recipient of payroll bank statements but not custodian (statements are to be returned to HR once bank reconciliations are performed due to employee remuneration information disclosed on the bank statement by individual).
• Authorised to upload cash onto the Citibank cards that are being used as Cash Cards at all locations, upon receipt of details of previous spend.
• Authorized to negotiate cash-pooling structure for inter-account sweeps.
• Authorised to submit exchange control applications.
• Authorized bank relationship contact.
• Adhere to all quality and safety requirements of the SGS management system.
• Perform any other reasonable tasks as assigned by direct line manager.

 Required Skills

Education and experience

• Finance degree
• Relevant experience working in a similar position for multiple entities
• Full accounting knowledge with regards to relevant IFRS and treasury recordings
• Hedging experience
• Proficient on MS Office applications, especially Excel
• Proficient with banking online solutions and able to independently trouble shoot with support of bank administration
• Understanding, recording and reporting of realized and unrealized foreign exchange
