Training Officer (Underground Core Drilling)

SUMMARY:
Join a leading provider in the mineral exploration drilling industry, and deliver specialised training programmes for the Underground Core Drilling team to ensure full compliance with industry standard, mine regulations and safety protocols. Please note this position is based in Mokopane.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver comprehensive technical, operational, and safety training programs for underground drilling personnel through both classroom and practical sessions.
• Ensure that all training activities are aligned to industry regulations, mine specific requirement and promoting strong safety culture.
• Emphasize risk assessment and hazard management in all training sessions.
• Conduct evaluations to assess trainee’s skills and knowledge.
• Provide constructive feedback and recommendation of skills development.
• Develop and review training material based on industry advancement and regulatory changes.
• Implement, manage and update online training documents system to enhance accessibility and learning efficiency.
• Maintain accurate training records and monitor trainee’s progress leaning management systems (LMS).
• Analyse workplace incidents to identify root causes and develop target solution training to prevent recurrence.
• Work closely with Management, Clients, and regulatory bodies to identify training nees and ensure alignment with organisational goal.
• Ensure trainees are proficient in operating specialised core drilling equipment.
• Utilise simulation technologies to enhance practical training.
• Evaluate training effectiveness and implement improvements to enhance workforce capabilities, safety and efficiency.
• Able to work independently as well as a member of a team.

• Grade 12 / N3 or equivalent.
• Trade certificate or Underground blasting ticket.
• Must be a registered Assessor.
• Certification in the training and development relevant field will be advantage (Moderator etc)
• Relevant National Diploma in training related field will be an advantage.
• Must have 5 years’ experience as a Training officer in the Underground mining environment.
• Must have strong knowledge of drilling equipment.
• Valid EB / Code 8 Drivers License.
