- Grade 12 / Matric Qualification
- Experience in a mechanical or workshop environment
- Exposure to trailer or heavy vehicle maintenance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment
Key Responsibilities:
1. Daily Inspection Tasks
1.1 Inspect trailers for visible damage
1.2 Check tyres, wheel nuts, and wheel nut indicators
1.3 Check lights and electrical connections
1.4 Inspect air hoses and brake lines for leaks

Basic Maintenance Tasks
2.1 Grease trailer components (kingpin, landing legs, suspension)
2.2 Replace lights and bulbs
2.3 Tighten loose bolts and fittings
2.4 Replace air hoses or electrical suzie lines
3. Brake System Assistance
3.1 Assist with brake pad or brake shoe replacements
3.2 Inspect brake chambers and slack adjusters
3.3 Check air leaks in brake system
4. Tyre and Wheel Work
4.1 Remove and fit trailer wheels
4.2 Assist with tyre replacement
5. Structural and Body Maintenance
5.1 Fit reflectors and safety markings
5.2 Check for Damages and report it to the Workshop Manager
6. Workshop Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning and maintaining tools, equipment, and work areas
6.2 Ensure workshop housekeeping standards are maintained
6.3 Assisting workshop housekeeping and standards are maintained
6.4 Reporting faults, defects or safety hazards identified during inspections
