Purpose of role:
The Trading Assistant participates in all trading, allocation, and settlement related issues. In addition, this role will offer support to all back-end operational processes to support the pricing and implementation department. You would also be responsible for the valuation and pricing of multiple funds, advising on exceptions and anomalies.
This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Having a thorough working knowledge of all trading program components
- Completing stock pick requests according to procedures
- Operating in a back-up capacity for daily Portfolio Management items, such as opening accounts, inputting cost information and adding new securities (not included with the daily download)
- Participating in the compilation and preparation of information required for Across-the-Board, and all fund trading
- Executing all stock, bond, derivative and mutual fund trade orders in accordance with compliant guidelines
- Preparing and transmitting all trade allocations for individual client accounts and the Funds in accordance with compliant guidelines
- Reconciling all block trades, individual client trades, and trades for the Value Trend Fund
- Updating daily information for the Range of Fund Both Domestically and Internationally
- Compiling and computing performance calculations for the Company’s model portfolio(s) on a weekly basis in accordance with compliant guidelines
- Providing accurate information for reporting purposes
- Assist with the daily task tracking activities to support the client administrative activities for planning and implementation
- Participate in special projects as needed
- Researching Fixed Income Instruments in order to achieve enhanced yield and to determine whether such instruments are suitable for company Portfolios
- Ensuring compliance with company investment policy, statutory restrictions and company procedures; client service level agreements and internal controls
Educational Requirements:
- BCom Degree in Accounting or Business Degree with Accounting II / Financial Markets-orientated Degree
- Bsc maths or stats
- Advanced Excel essential

- Job Requirements:
In order to perform these duties well, this position requires an individual who is extremely detail oriented and can work well under pressure. This position also requires the ability to handle several tasks simultaneously. The role would be responsible for global and local fund trades, so hours extensive as the position would require trading across multiple time zones.
