JOB DESCRIPTION:

Leading Asset Management company

The Portfolio Administrator is responsible for the administration and execution of all Portfolio

Operations- activities within this Asset Management company. You will need to monitor all bookings

of trades and trade settlements including reporting on a daily basis. The role also involves ensuring

that the Portfolio Managers are updated daily on all instructions received from the client which

involves inflows and outflows reported by the client on the various portfolios and that all portfolio

holdings reports are correct before the market opens.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Mange the timeous, accurate processing of the daily trades with the market and administrator

• Follow up on unmatched trade confirmations with the Administrator, brokers, and custodians.

• Investigate all trade settlement issues

• Process allocations, amendments or deal adjustments based on the timelines or deadlines as per

the JSE and STRATE requirements

• Liaise directly with Administrator/custodians / brokers / JSE / STRATE to resolve failed trades until

they have successfully been settled in the market

• Conduct cash and scrip reconciliations daily

• Liaise with the Administrator for new securities codes and ongoing maintenance of existing

securities

• Liaise with Administrator, including custodians to ensure effective and timeous resolution of

queries

• Liaise directly with foreign brokers to ensure timeously settlement of foreign equity and bond

settlements

• Liaise directly with forex operations Team to ensure timeously settlement of all forex transactions

Executed

• Process daily reconciliation of Portfolios (cash and scrip)

• Updating and submitting updated holdings and cash reporting to the Portfolio daily

• Processing of cash payments – redemptions; margin calls

• Updating the Administrator portal with cash flows

• Monthly updating of local and interest

• Processing of bookbuilds and private placements

• Ensuring that all Portfolios are updated timeously during the day

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

• 5 – 8 years’ experience in Trade Support at an Asset Management company essential

• Excellent experience in Financial Markets Operation
