Trade Counter Assistant (Industrial Components)

SUMMARY:
We are looking to employ a Trade Counter Assistant for a Industrial Components Company based in Kyalami.

POSITION INFO:

Education and Qualification Requirements:

• N4 to N6 will be an advantage

Skills/Requirements

• Experience of selling Industrial components in a business to business retail sales environment will be an advantage
• Technical knowledge
• Computer Literacy is a must
• International Computer Drivers Licence (ICDL) will be an advantage
• Previous experience in using the SAP system for processing orders will be an advantage

Principal Responsibilities

• Maintenance, and improvement of cross counter customer service.
• Assisting in the supervision and security of the display area in Trade Counter.
• Monthly updating and continuous improving of display areas in line with company marketing activities.
• Stock take on all display items every 2 months.
• Assisting in the security of building and stock.
• Assisting in the measurement and reporting of Key Performance Measures.
• Responsibility for cash balance at the end of the day in the Trade Counter as well as the reporting of all cheque, credit card and electronic transfer transactions by 09:00 the next business day.
• Support of marketing initiatives for the Trade Counter.
• Generation of ideas for marketing initiatives for the Trade Counter.
• Involvement and encouragement of a team mind set involving ALL staff in the area.
• Assisting on the trade counter:

- Assisting customers with queries.
- Processing orders.
- Processing/picking customers’ orders (cash till included).
- Processing faxed orders/quotes where required.
- Processing telephonic orders where required.
- Receiving goods returned from customers.

• Assisting in the maintenance, general neatness and cleanliness of the trade counter.
• Working at the Trade Counter on alternate Saturdays from 08:00 to 12:00.
• Continuous improvement of the brand Experience for the customers visiting the Trade Counter.
• Stock control and security on site.
• Commercial image of Trade Counter, e.g. displays etc.
• Support of OH&S ACT and security.
