SUMMARY:
the role will be responsible for coordinating the maintenance activities to ensure effective maintenance according to organisational requirements and delegate tasks to subordinates to ensure safe installation, running and maintenance of equipment / TMM for optimum availability at the lowest cost.

POSITION INFO:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

ï‚· Grade 10 & N3

ï‚· Recognised Trade Test Certificate – AUTO ELECTRICIAN) ** OR

ï‚· Diploma in Electrical (N6) advantageous / NB – this is an alternative to Trade Test Certificate for PDSA EIT (Engineer in Training) only.

ï‚· Minimum 5 years’ experience in relevant trade (post qualification)

ï‚· Supervisory Development Programme (SDP) or equivalent

ï‚· Computer Literacy and Microsoft Office Suite

ï‚· Valid driver’s license.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

ï‚· Co-ordinate maintenance and monitor equipment availability to ensure adherence to production targets.

ï‚· Responsible to perform preventative maintenance and scheduled legal inspections on equipment and machinery.

ï‚· Co-ordinate or support the implementation of the operational requirements of the mines environmental policy and procedures.

ï‚· Responsible to minimize down-time and evaluate risk (i.e. Root Cause Analysis) in area of responsibility.

ï‚· Responsible for Radiation Equipment as per Legal appointment in area of responsibility if applicable

ï‚· Execute and approve administrative tasks, including applicable systems (e.g. Modern Flow, ESS, Xtime, Isometrix).

ï‚· Responsible to ensure spares availability as per area of responsibility ï‚· Perform standby duties and attend to breakdowns.

ï‚· Comply with requirements of various protocols at Department and company level.

ï‚· Responsible for investigating opportunities for improvement and developing, implementing and controlling action plans to realise the improvements.

ï‚· Oversee or facilitate the selection and utilisation of technical support services and logistics to optimise operational processes.

ï‚· Communicate equipment information and changes to relevant stakeholders to minimise production delays.

ï‚· Responsible to oversee the testing of relevant systems and equipment in area of responsibility.

ï‚· Responsible to prioritise activities that is aligned to the requirements of other departments.

ï‚· Ensure that all Engineering reporting is aligned with standards, guidelines and schedules.

ï‚· Implement risk assessments, Safe work procedures and Planned Task Observations, review, monitor, train and implement all codes of practice, policies, procedures, risk assessments and standards and ensure all are in place for the effective management of safe working conditions in terms of related area of responsibilities and legal requirements.

ï‚· Safety, Health and Environment Compliance: Model behaviour that is consistent with the Company Safety, Health and Environment Vision and Values. Manage and report on non compliance issues.

ï‚· Company Policy & Procedures Compliance: Takes cognisance of and adhere to Company policies, procedures and relevant legislation. Manage and report on non compliance issues.

ï‚· Engagement & Communication: Establish and maintain good working relationships and an effective / sound communication system with the Engineering Function.

ï‚· Responsible for the training and development of subordinates.

ï‚· Supervise subordinates in the designated area.

ï‚· Effective Team Player and Effective Self-Management.
