Town Planner

POSITION INFO:

The Town Planner is responsible for preparations and development of Urban Designs and land management strategies for development projects that address social, economic, environmental, and health matters to create sustainable communities and revitalised physical structures

•  Design and administer plans and policies affecting land use, zoning, public utilities, community  facilities, housing, and transportation.
• Develop Research and Design Planning proposal to support strategic planning solutions for development projects
• Conduct field investigations, surveys, impact studies or other research in order to compile and analyze data on economic, social, regulatory and physical factors affecting land use.
• Advise on project feasibility, cost-effectiveness, regulatory conformance, and possible alternatives of   Property Development Projects.
• Engage with officials on the purpose of land use projects such as transportation, conservation, residential, commercial, industrial, and community use.
• Coordinate work with economic consultants and architects during the formulation of plans and the design of large pieces of infrastructure. 
• Review and evaluate environmental impact reports pertaining to the planning of Development projects and programs.
• Arrange engagements to inform government officials, built professionals, special interest groups and the general public regarding land use matters of the development project

Requirements:

• Masters Degree in Town Planning is essential
• Professional registration is essential
• Post graduate qualification in Urban Design or related field is an advantage
• 5 years Town and Urban Planning experience is essential
• 3 years Construction Project Management is essential
• 5 years community liaison is advantage
• Knowledge / understanding of principles of urban design and town planning
• Knowledge /understanding of Transportation Planning, Construction, Project Management, Community Development, Environmental Management is must
• Computer literacy in relevant IT systems and packages
