Tool Path and Die Cast
POSITION INFO:
We are a family manufacturing concern for the past 51 years, based in Rosslyn, Pretoria with both a local and international client base. We have 4 different production methods.
- Variety of presses
- High pressure die casting
- Injection molding
- Embossing
using gilding metals, zinc, plastic, silicone, and precious metals for our prestige items.
We have a vacancy for a young innovative graphic designer with the following attributes:

The successful candidate could be from any creative field i.e., jewelry; cabinetry; architectural draftsman etc., not necessarily skilled in all the above disciplines, some which could be learnt in-house.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive brief from sales team/client/product developer; quick interpretation and response time, grasping the production process and parameters within, giving guidance and suggestions to the relevant person
- Write toolpath taking into consideration all the requirements for the final product, creating the cutting pattern into a piece of steel with different size cutters, depth, and width converting relief to toolpaths. Knowledge of Tool Changers, Tool tolerances, Tool types would be beneficial.
- Cutting involves putting material on CNC machines and monitoring the die cutting process.
- Knowledge of CNC machiningwould be advantageous, including:
- Prior experience with 3 axis machining.
- Prior experience with two-part dies or moulds used in injection moulding, spin casting, lost wax/centrifugal casting or die casting would be advantageous.
- Converting vectors into 2.5D reliefs
- Resolving design errors
- We use Art-cam for graphic design and G-Codes or M-Codes for Toolpaths.
OTHER:
- Over-time and work over weekends as and when required by the company
- Strict deadlines to adhere to
