SUMMARY:
We are looking for a skilled Toolmaker (formally qualified or highly experienced) who wants more than just a job—someone who wants to grow, lead, and contribute to rebuilding the toolmaking trade in South Africa, to join our team based in Boksburg.
POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements
- Proven experience with CNC milling (3-axis or more)
- Experience with conventional milling and turning
- Proficiency in Mastercam (preferred) or other CAM software
- Strong understanding of:
- Machine setup
- Cutter selection and tooling strategies
- Machining processes and materials
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Demonstrated experience in a manufacturing/toolroom environment
Key Responsibilities- Manufacture, assemble, and maintain precision moulds, tools, and fixtures
- Program and operate CNC machines using CAM software
- Perform full machine setups, including tooling and workholding
- Select appropriate cutters and machining strategies for optimal results
- Participate in tool trials, production support, and handovers
- Conduct maintenance, repairs, and modifications on existing tooling
- Collaborate across teams to ensure quality, efficiency, and innovation
- Maintain high standards of safety, accuracy, and workmanship
