POSITION INFO:

 Tinter

We are currently looking for a well-experienced Tinter who is able to work well under pressure, in a fast-paced environment. The individual must be motivated with excellent written and oral communication skills. The successful candidate will be reporting directly to the Branch Manager. A good understanding of paint and paint related products in a retail environment shall serve as an advantage.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Paint Tinting

 

 

 

v  Notify the manager of any faulty machinery

v  Ensure colourants canisters are filled as necessary

v  Minimise wastage of colourants by ensuring that containers of new colourants are completely emptied

v  Notify Branch manager of any mistints

v  Stock all the mistints in a specified area

v  Label all complete tints

v  Computer tinting machine carousels must be always clean

v  Minimise the wastage of colourants

v  Mistints to be within agreed limits

v  Ensure that orders for match makers and expressions are accurately tinted in sequence, with cash calling customers, receiving priority.

  1. Customer Service

 

 

A. Provide excellent customer service to all walk in and calling customers

B. Ensure that customer complaints are minimised due to.

v  Incorrect colour matching

v  Excessive delay in completion of tints

v  Colour variation from container to container

v  Product faulty due to over tinting

v  Incorrect colours resulting from careless errors

 

C. Tint paint as per customer request and brush out cards

D. Ensure that all tinting orders are completed timeously

E. Ensure that there are no customer complaints due to product fault and over tinting

 

 

  1. Special Mixes

 

 

v  Tint special mixes accurately to colour standard within time limits.

v  Ensure that where more than 1 container is tinted to a standard, the container is ‘Boxed” to ensure uniform colour in all containers.

v  Minimise over-makes on special mixes and notify warehouse manager of any overages.

v  Notify manager any mistakes and to work off S&R stocks into special mixes where appropriate.

v  Mistints reported immediately to manager.

v  Write off stock values due to tinting errors, to be below the agreed limits.

  1. House Keeping/Ad hoc

 

 

v  Ensure that tinting department is always kept in a neat and clean condition.

v  Assist with other tasks and/or other locations as directed.

v  Assist in preparation for company stock takes and at actual stock count as requested.

v  Resolve problems and recommend new ideas to improve productivity.

v  Keep manual and computer tinting machines in a clean and working condition.

  1. Health and Safety

v  Observe and complete regulations on Health and Safety.

v  Use all personal protective equipment provided.

v  Observe proper safety precautions during tinting of special mixes, ensuring good ventilation, fire precautions and use of safety equipment to minimise fume inhalation and skin and eye contact.

v  Ensure full compliance with Covid-19 protocols.

 

  1. Admin

 

v  Keep records of all tinted products including special mixes. Brush out cards with approximate quantities of products used, customer name, date etc. and ensure these are filed in customer alphabetical order.

v  Ensure that on completion, special mixes are accurately filled and labelled.

The Successful Candidate will require:

  • Matric Certificate
  • 2-3 years paint tinting experience
  • 3 years in paint Retail environment
  • Colour matching abilities
  • Product knowledge of different paint
  • Occupational Health and Safety knowledge

Statute: Permanent
