Nightshift Manager with be the most senior person on the shift at night and report direct to the Operations Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Manage all aspects of the Cape Town Nightshift operations.
• Manage fleet and inter-branch linehaul
• Optimal utilization (productivity)
• Route Planning
Staff
• Discipline
• Attendance
• Overtime
• Shift Planning
• Daily Operations
• Resource & Linehaul planning
• Route & Driver scheduling
• Manage Receiving and dispatch of freight for interbranch transfers
• Ensure that all systems driven admin remains up to date and complete
• Identify and built solutions to solve operational inefficiencies.
• Ensure on-time departures of all interbranch linehaul vehicles
General
• Manage POD department and ensure all PODs have been updated
• Manage data capturing department and ensure all waybills have been captured correct and complete
• General cleanliness / neatness of the staff and vehicles
• Assist the risk department in investigations and/or identifying areas that could expose the business to risk and/or loss.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 3 years in a management position
• Previous experience in transport / logistics / courier essential
• Minimum Grade 12, but tertiary qualification will be advantageous
• Some qualification in Logistics or Supply Chain Management or Operations Management
• Fully computer literate and Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook
• Good geographical knowledge of South Africa
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English with a strong ability to deal with customers professionally
