SUMMARY:
Test Engineer with experience with financial modelling systems for a company in either Edinburgh or Glasgow.

Test Engineer with experience with financial modelling systems required.
The company (who are an award-winning leader in their field) are looking to add to their specialist team with a Test Engineer who can test a range of complex actuarial systems. These systems are where they add real value for their clients and what sets them apart for the crowd.
As a company, whilst they are pretty sizeable, they don''t really have that ''corporate'' feel as there is a relatively flat hierarchy, and everyone is encouraged to speak up and influence the process (so if you care about your voice being heard, this might be the role for you!)
This role is very technical with the company utilising cutting-edge technologies and processes.
You''ll end up being a real subject matter expert, taking ownership of testing the financial models. Day to day, your work will be varied, creating functional and non-functional tests, ensuring everything from the complex calculations to the user experience (so both back and front-end testing!) is of high quality.
You''ll need to have real domain knowledge across pensions and actuarial calculations, so experience in a similar environment is essential.
You''ll have most of the following skills/experience:
** Manual and automation testing experience
** CI/CD pipelines
** Functional and non-functional testing expereince
** Experience with pensions, investment or actuarial domains (this is a must)
** Experience with financial or pension modelling systems - creating calculation checks for the models (this is a must)
** Maintaining regression test packs
** R knowledge would be a massive bonus
** Coach more junior Testers
There are lots of opportunities within the business to build on this role - some people end up working across specific accounts and end up knowing the financial models really well, and can delve into other technical areas. Their turnover is really low, and they often find that when people leave and move on, they end up asking to come back - which gives an insight into the positive but technically challenging environment they have worked hard to successfully build.
Location-wise, there are offices in both Glasgow and Edinburgh. Right now, they are working remotely, but would be keen for people to be in the office again when possible (and safe to do so!). However, they can potentially offer part-remote working - but more on a case by case basis.
