Our client, a national multi-disciplined construction company, specializing in medium to large scale building and civils projects, seeks to employ a qualified and experienced Tender Buyer, for their operation in Cape Town.
Please Note that the role requires a candidate with a strong background in procurement for the civils sector (roads, bulk earthworks) and we cannot accept candidates who do not have the relevant sector expertise.
KEY REQUIREMENTS TO MEET FOR CONSIDERATION:
- You will have completed a tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management or related field, coupled with 10+ years experience in construction and civils materials sourcing, procurement and supply chain management, as well as having good working knowledge of RFQ and tender process management.
- You will have an industry specific established networks and relationships with quarries, bitumen refineries, steel mills, concrete producers and the like, in order to expand the current field of material suppliers.
- You will have experience in tender site inspections and drafting of site reports for material sourcing purposes.
- Certification in CCS, BuildSmart and Leads 2 is essential
- You will have a strong understanding of BBEEE preferential procurement policies applicable to the construction sector
- You will have proven experience in negotiations with suppliers, ensuring quality materials for best prices, as well as risk planning
- You will be flexible to travel if needed, have exceptional interpersonal skills, effectively communicate at all levels, lead by example and deliver results in a high pressure environment, meeting international standards.
Preference will be give to candidates resident in the Western Cape, however, should you be suitable and qualified, and wish to apply but be resident outside of the Western Cape, any cost incurred for interviews or relocation will be at your own expense.
