SUMMARY:
A temporary 6-months maternity cover contract position is available with our client in the Automotive sector for a Used Vehicle Controller. Candidate to start in December 2021. Position based in Kariega/Uitenhage.
POSITION INFO:
Duties:
· Manage and maintain the used vehicle pricing strategies by continuously reviewing auction offers vs SAP used vehicle pricing, identifying reserve price anomalies to market trends, advising Finance and the Brands with recommendations on pricing strategies in order to ensure optimum profitability in time with changing market conditions.
· Maintain monthly used vehicle pricing within SAP pricing tables by ensuring that pricing values are uploaded correctly to reflect correct trade values per registration year model, thereby ensuring accurate reserves values reflect in SAP.
· Supervise and support used vehicle administrators by providing feedback of performance against targets, forecast volumes, market trends and new sales initiatives in order to provide an environment within which administrators feel challenged and gain job satisfaction in order to produce the results necessary to achieve departmental objectives.
· Manage and supervise the de-fleeting process of company vehicles, employee vehicles, department vehicles, field vehicles and evaluate the condition of vehicles for refurbishment if required, quality check refurbishment before units are made available for sale as well supervise vehicle movement within storage yard.
· Supervise and train administrators, where necessary by way of monitoring and evaluating all sales transactions. Assist with negotiations with dealers and employees where disputes are in arbitration in order to ensure amicable agreement between all parties, ensuring all legal and delivery aspects (condition of sale letters, export documentation) of such work is performed in order to avoid consequences of not meeting government, legal and company specified used vehicle sales and customer satisfaction requirements.
· Maintain the database of vehicles purchased by employees (new and used) by updating monthly input, monitoring, controlling and editing data in order to ensure information is current, accurate and relevant, is easily accessible within levels of authority and available to Used vehicle administrators to monitor employee eligibility to purchase company vehicle.
· Supervise the maintenance of physical filing system for company vehicle registration data sheets by receiving new registration documents, filing, controlling receipt and issue of documents, perform regular audits and take corrective actions in order to ensure all company documents are systematically filed and all registration documents reflect/match physical stock.
· Maintain and examine if used vehicle reconditioning costs in line with annual inflationary increases by researching, assessing repairs/reconditioning requirements, obtaining quotations from body shops, consolidating information and distributing for approval in order to ensure values charged to lessees and discount given in the sale price is a fair representation of actual cost of repair in the market.
· Manage and co-ordinate the annual used vehicle stock take by drawing the stock report from SAP, issue to supply chain, effect physical stock take (yard) together with internal and external audit, receive exception report, investigate, analyse, problem solve and reconcile variances in order to comply with audit requirements for stock and asset management.
· Supervise the availability of used vehicle stock to employees, VIP’s and dealers by receiving purchase requests, matching available stock to purchase request, conclude sale agreement, action sale and complete documentation in order to have a fair distribution of all used vehicles to customers and achievement of KPI targets.
· Manage, co-ordinate, develop, implement and ensure introduction of used vehicle e-commerce auction systems, processes and vehicle disposal strategies by benchmarking current systems in the industry, competitors and trends, to ensure continuous process improvement and offer a world-class service to dealers.
· Approve and administer the payment to dealers for employee used vehicle sale handling fee by generating a summary report from SAP of deliveries made, assess and validate insuring information is complete, current and accurate in order to supply order to effect payment.
· Manage 3rd party suppliers and service providers of fitments, repairs and claims by assessing supplier capabilities, competencies and capacity in order to effectively ensure supplier compliance with legal, financial and statutory requirements of the agreed contract and authorise payments to 3rd party suppliers for services provided in accordance with contract by receiving invoice. Verifying invoice details by matching to actual services provided and ensuring payment documentation is accurate, in order for electronic payment to be made timeously.
· Approve the issue of orders to dealers for failed roadworthy items by investigating the origin of the claim, assessing the repair required, receiving the quotations, and issue of order in order to effect repair in accordance with the used vehicle sale agreement.
· Supervise in conjunction with internal audit and finance, the tender process of non -standard, accident damage, test, high mileage and scrapped vehicles to ensure that the sale meets all legal requirements for the sale of these vehicles.
· Compile month end management reports of used vehicle sales performance and stock levels ensuring information is accurate, relevant, report is issued within due dates and time frames in order for effective comparison to internal targets and clarity of macro-economic influences on the business performance in establishing realistic forecasts.
Requirements:
· Bachelor degree in Marketing/Finance/Cost Accounting and Business Administration
· Minimum 3 years gained within Sales & Marketing/Retail sales/vehicle costing environment
· Sound knowledge of Used vehicle disposal process, vehicle Distribution and employee services functions
· Excellent knowledge of products and vehicle specifications
· In depth knowledge of vehicle sales policies, procedures and legal requirements
· Knowledge of the dealer organization, geographical location and dealer operating processes
· Support OEM in building-up wholesale/ retail systems and processes
· Knowledge of approved external suppliers and content of their supply contracts
· Knowledge of the purchasing process for external suppliers
· Knowledge of internal controls, applications and regulations
· In depth knowledge of legal implications with various conditions of sale
· Knowledge of customs regulations/documentation requirements for vehicle exports to neighbouring countries
· In depth knowledge of vehicle mechanics with the ability to identify damage to vehicles, evaluate and determine vehicle damage repair costs
