Technology Engineer - Electrical - Centurion

The incumbent will be responsible for introducing and driving new innovative technology solutions within the business. The overall objective being to ensure value for money for our customers through the implementation of latest technologies solutions and optimal maintenance routines based on best practices. This role profile is an abridged version of what the job incumbent is expected to do in an ordinary day. It does not cover all the duties that will be undertaken by this person which may be delegated to the job incumbent from time to time.

Lead, implement and manage the technology strategy through the development of an operational and leadership plan which is in line with the tactical plan of the business
Compile policies and procedures for improved operational efficiency
Review and development of all Engineering Asset Care assessments audit sheets, together with related implementation initiatives (i.e. re-instatement processes for equipment optimal operational levels, identification of training requirements)
Approval of high-level designs, specifications, new technology implementation, Factory Acceptance Testing, undertake or assist with first and final handover of projects
Advisory role to regions with respect to the statutory and regulatory requirements
Level 2 support with breakdowns and site reinstatement

Incident investigation, problems solving and technical report writing skills
Engineering Asset Life Cycle Management
Develop and maintain asset maintenance strategies (Engineering Equipment Instructions)
Compile equipment/plant condition reports as an input into the project and Risk Management process
Quotations and new take-on spare parts management

Qualifications and experience:

B. Eng Degree, BSC (Eng) or B Tech Degree in Technology Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current) or Electrical Trade with National-N-Diploma
Registration with Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) will be an advantage
Registration as an Installation Electrician
School Grade
Grade 12

Code B – Frequent traveling required
10 - 15 years’ experience in Design and Maintenance of Electrical (Heavy Current) systems; Emergency Power Systems; Uninterruptable Power Systems; Solar and hybrid systems

Incident and failure investigation
Technical Report Writing
Functional specific training in (Electrical)
Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM II) program
Root-cause Analysis

Budget Management
Facilities: Management Building Regulations
IT Training: (General MS etc.) Computer Literate (MS Office Packages) - SAP proficiency - CMMS
Health & Safety Training: Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations
SANS

Salary - R600 kpa
