Job Requirements

Qualifications (Essential)

• Matric
• Diploma
• Minimum of 2 years in the WISP industry
• Computer literacy/COMPTIA (MS Office)
• Microwave / Wi-Fi technology
• Electrical circuits 101 AC/DC/Solar (or similar)
• NTCNA MikroTik (or similar)
• Working at heights certified due to high sites Construction, Maintenance and masts – essential
• RF/Microwave Advanced
• Structured cabling
• Fibre optic reticulation
• Valid driver’s license due to extensive travel & remote work – essential

Knowledge areas:

• Understanding of microwave systems
• Must be capable in setup of routers and AP’s (Wi-Fi-LAN)
• Must be capable in setup of wireless links.
• Must be capable in setup of VOIP phones.
• Wide understanding of AC and DC electrical circuits

Skills (Essential):

• Practical
• Must be technically inclined
• Working with power tools and hand tools

Criteria required:

• Field technicians provide field assistance in network maintenance, network build and CPE installations and faults.
• The effective execution of tasks related to implementing network infrastructure and services and its ongoing maintenance. This includes undertaking works in all provinces on company’s national footprint.
• The role requires work to be performed during business and non-business hours as required due to the nature of the scheduled and unscheduled works required by company as a 24/7/365 Telecommunications company.

• Availability to perform highly technical field works
• Consistent adherence to company’s SOP and Technical standards for works
• Manage personal and company administration tasks

 

Market related salary offered
