SUMMARY:
Technical Writer required at an Engineering company that design, develop and manufacture electronic devices and electronic detonating equipment for a variety of clients. Proven experience needed in the art of technical writing of complex documentations as well as user friendly manuals. Ability to work at all levels of the organization. Must have engineering technical writing abilities and ability to integrate technical drawings in documentation for easy reference to use by clients/ internal staff.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Technical Writer

Johannesburg East

International original electronic Manufacturer. JSE listed company.

Technical writer required with solid skills in document and manual writing and the ability to understand the technical engineering environment.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Requirements

Technical Writing certification or equivalent
5 years’ experience in a technical writing role
Proficient in Microsoft applications, specifically Word, PowerPoint, Visio CorelDraw or In Design / Photoshop knowledge
Ability to interact with all levels of the organization
Ability to grasp and learn complex software quickly

Required outputs: Functional:

Create user documentation for a variety of material, including how-to guides and instruction manuals
Write technical direction on product announcements, marketing brochures, advertisements, and marketing specifications
Meet with channel representatives, vendors, design engineers and production to establish technical specifications
Ensure that correct drawings, specifications, photographs and product samples are correctly integrate in manuals/ marketing documentation and tenders.
Writing done in such a manner that it is easy understood (Clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology)
Review published materials and recommend revisions or changes in scope, format, and content
Select photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to illustrate material
Continuously proofread for grammar and spelling
