Technical Training Officer

SUMMARY:
Our Client is looking for a Technical Training Officer who is a dynamic individual, self-motivated, team player, with strong leadership abilities, high integrity, a sound technical training background and with a very innovative mindset. This person must be energetic, with passion for training and development.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 12 (maths & physical) & a recognized trade test as millwright or equivalent.
• Previous 10 years artisan/foreman (mechanical) experience will be advantageous.
• Diploma /current study /willingness to study HRD or equivalent.
• Qualified and/or registered Skills Development Facilitator (SDF).
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a technical trainer (operations / technical).
• Basic knowledge of EE, SDL, SD Acts, SAQA requirements.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite at an intermediate level.
• A high level of competence in leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to develop, implement & maintain training programs and training manuals.
• Attention to detail and proven ability to work under pressure.
• Good business acumen.

DUTIES INCLUDE

• Planning and scheduling of external and internal training in line with training requirements.
• Evaluating the quality of the training materials/manuals/programs for trainees / learners.
• Facilitating and /or coordinating operational and technical training to employees.
• Developing, implementation and maintaining training programs and manuals.
• Managing operations and technical trainees such as E.I.T. apprentices, learners, etc.).
• Proactively conduct skills gap analysis / audit and compile annual training budget.
• Proactively conduct post training on the job evaluation to establish training effectiveness.
• Enhance skills set to eliminate skills shortages across all departments.
• Provide monthly training reports and compile WSP and ATR for submission to AgriSETA.
