Technical Training Officer

SUMMARY:
Technical Training Officer with min 5 years’ experience as Training Officer in the Manufacturing industry. NDip or Degree Electrical/Mechanical Engineering (or similar); with Assessor; Moderator or Facilitator qualification and passionate about training. Extensive knowledge of instructional design theory and implementation required.

POSITION INFO:

THE ROLE

The client is seeking a robust, vivacious, and energetic Snr Technical Training Officer that has a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Training Officer in the Manufacturing industry.  The incumbent should have an NDip or Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering (or similar);  together with Assessor;  Moderator or Facilitator qualification and be passionate about training.  The successful candidate must have extensive knowledge of instructional design theory and implementation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:                                                     

• Map out annual training plans for factory employees
• Design and develop training programs – outsourced or in house.
• Select appropriate training methods or activities (Simulations, mentoring, on the job training)
• Market available training to employees and provide necessary information methods and techniques.
• Conduct organization-wide training needs assessment and identify skill or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed.
• Use the known education principles and stay up to date on new training methods and techniques.
• Design prepare and order educational aids and materials.
• Assess instructional effectiveness and determine the impact of training on employee skill and KPI’s.
• Gather feedback from trainers and trainees after each educational session.
• Maintain updated curriculum database and training records.
• Host train the trainer sessions for internal subject matter experts.
• Manage and maintain in house training facilities and equipment.
• Research and recommend new training methods.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Proven work experience as a Training Coordinator, Trainer, Training Facilitator, or similar role
• Hands-on experience coordinating multiple training events
• Extensive knowledge of instructional design theory and implementation.
• Proven ability to complete the full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate).
• Familiarity with traditional and modern job training methods and techniques
• MS Office proficiency
• Advanced organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments.
• Strong communication skills
• Qualification in education, Training, Technical or related field
• At least five years minimum experienced as a Training Officer
• Min 3 – 4 years experienced spent in Manufacturing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Snr Training Officer.
• NDip or degree in Engineering/Mechanical or similar field. 
• Experience in training applicable to the manufacturing environment.
• Qualification as Educator advantageous.
• Previous Snr Training Officer experience essential.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Ability to compile monthly reports to Deputy Factory Manager. 
• MS Office experience essential
