Technical Training Lead

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Technical Training is required to facilitate the knowledge and skills transfer of Technical expertise to the Technical population within the dealer repair network.  It is the joint responsibility of the Technical Training Team to develop technical competence within the dealer Network.

Learning is facilitated through online learning, classroom theory and practical application of the students ‘s knowledge, culminating in evaluations performed by the Training Team to assess the resulting level of competence.

A good Technical Training Lead will understand the concepts of adult learning and the importance of knowledge transfer and retention. He/She will be familiar with various learning methodologies and know how to apply them effectively to support effective learning. He/She will use this knowledge to lead the Training Team/s in successfully delivering the Key Performance Metrics specified by the client.

A good Technical Training Lead will understand the role and value a well-structured technical training programme in supporting the objective of Fix Right First Time and will pro-actively seek opportunities to align the training curriculum to achieve this objective. He/She will further, seek opportunities to guide the client in the adoption of modern learning methodologies where these will improve the overall service delivery and metric achievement.

The Technical Training Lead will ensure that the Team/Facility and service are all aligned with the client brand standards and that the student experience is aligned to Service Engineering Operations strategy.

This role is responsible for training within South Africa, Sub-Sahara Africa – Middle East and North Africa to be included from 2023 onwards.

  • Deliver a metrics driven turnkey Regional Technical Training Solution
    • Provide a Technical Training Programme that attracts, trains and retains quality technical staff across the Dealer Network
    • Supplies management, supervision and appropriate resources to successfully deliver the regional Technical Training plan
    • Oversee the administration of the LMS (STARS) to support the delivery of the training plan
    • Attracts, develops and retains quality trainers who are committed to the common objectives agreed annually in advance
        • Project manage new training opportunities including budget and key success factor measurements
        • Support and contribute to IMG Technical Training Delivery and Development status meetings
        • Monitor service provision and key metrics across all assigned programmes
        • Status Reporting:
          • Facilitate Monthly/bi-weekly dealer/Supplier status meetings
          • Provide/update meeting minutes/issues log and solution to local SEO
          • Deliver training metrics report including remedial actions where relevant
        • Training Planner:
          • Assist in development of needs analysis-based training plan on quarterly basis (unless otherwise stipulated)
      • This is an outline of the main duties and responsibilities of the designated role, but other duties may be assigned from time to time as the situation requires.
      • Use a Customer Driven approach to training delivery which sees feedback from Dealers, Technicians and Trainers as paramount to the process of continuous improvement.

      • Will be travelling locally and internationally.
