JOB DESCRIPTION:

The successful incumbent will be reporting to the Technical Training Team Lead

Technical Training is required to facilitate the knowledge and skills transfer of d Technical expertise to the Technical population within the dealer repair network.  It is the joint responsibility of the Technical Training Team to develop technical competence within the dealer Network.

Learning is facilitated through online learning, classroom theory and practical application of the students ‘s knowledge, culminating in evaluations performed by the Training Team to assess the resulting level of competence.

A good Technical Trainer will understand the concepts of adult learning and the importance of knowledge transfer and retention. He/She will familiarise themselves with various learning methodologies and get to know and understand how to apply them effectively to support effective learning. He/She will use this knowledge to contribute to the Training Team’s successful delivery of the Key Performance Metrics specified by the client.

A good Technical Trainer will understand his/her role and value a well-structured technical training programme in supporting the objective of Fix Right First Time. All Technical Trainers are responsible for the Team/Facility and service to be aligned with the client brand standards and that the student experience is aligned to Service Engineering Operations strategy.

This role is responsible for training within South Africa, Sub-Sahara Africa – Middle East and North Africa to be included from 2023 onwards.

  • Proficiency in delivery of required courses, using most appropriate training methods.
  • Support new model launch, competence and skills gaps plus business needs as appropriate.
  • Work with the training Manager and the client central market support team to eliminate any restrictions and deliver a suitable solution.
  • Deliver Training as required; based on information from technical support functions, competence needs as guided by The Training Manager etc.
  • Comply with CMI course delivery requirements/standards.
  • Prepare in advance for the seamless and professional delivery of training course
    • Printing materials and pre-test
    • Attendance registers
    • Preparation of workstations
    • Validating students’ successful completion of prerequisite online training
    • Preparing final theory and practical tests
  • Report and upload post-course metrics
    • Pre-test
    • Theory test
    • Practical test
    • Prepare and track failure reports, providing insights for remedial behaviours and tasks for students and managers
    • Confirm re-writes eligibility
  • Maintain own technical knowledge and ability, through on-going self-study, technical training, both local as well as international e.g., Train the Trainer programmes.
  • Technical training of the dealer technical staff, in order to improve the overall diagnostic skill of the dealership personnel, ensure understanding and compliance of available resource libraries (PTS, STARS).
  • Theoretical training into the correct use of workshop equipment, diagnostic equipment and special tools in order that repairs are effective and permanent.

Qualification:

           N3/ N6

            BTech, Engineering

            Master Technician

        Benefits:

            50/50 medical aid contribution between employer and employee

            Provident fund contribution split as 6% employee and 7.5% employer (optional)

  • Trainer/ Facilitator - 3 years
  •  Retail (aftersales) - 3 years
