POSITION INFO:

We are looking for an experienced Electronic Security Systems Technical Support person for a distributor of electronic security and building management systems on the East Rand

RESPONSIBILITIES

Â

• Evaluate systems potential by testing compatibility of new programs with existing programs and equipment
• Evaluate expansions or enhancements by studying workload and capacity of BMS (building management systems), CCTV, Fire, Intruder, Access Control and focusing on BMS support
• Identifying and evaluating options, and recommending a course of action
• Confirm software, firmware, specifications and network objectives by testing new programs, and comparing programs with established standards
• Effecting modifications as may be required
• Improve existing systems by reviewing objectives and specifications
• Evaluating proposed changes as well as recommending changes and making modifications
• Evaluate vendor-supplied product and software by studying user objectives, testing software compatibility with existing hardware and programs
• Maximize use of hardware and software by training of users – understanding of their needs and answering questions
• Maintain system capability by testing all related components
• Prepares reports for users by writing operating instructions and providing test results for problematic sites
• Maintains historical records by documenting calls and services provided on the Support Management Software
• Maintains client confidence and protects operations by keeping all information confidential
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, courses, reviewing professional publications, establishing and maintaining personal networks
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
• Repairs to Databases and merging of site information
• Providing technical support to clients and staff at the various branches of all products
• Ad-hoc site support and Firebird to SQL conversions
• Providing telephone and remote assistance
• Responsible for Stock counts on a daily, monthly, and yearly basis
• Maintains ISO compliancy

Requirements

Â

• Relevant post Grade 12/Matric qualification
• MUST have own reliable and fully insured car
• Must have +5 years’ Sales experience with respect to electronic security equipment. This is Non-Negotiable.
• Must have relevant Technical support experience
• MUST have PSIRA Grade B certification
• Syspro or similar ERP package experience
• Excellent Sales and Customer service skillset
• Good communication skills – verbal and written with all people
