Technical Support Analyst required for a company that provides cloud services and data analytics to the healthcare industry.
The company:
Now more than ever, companies who are researching into cancer treatments and long-term diseases such as Alzheimer''s need our support, and our client are helping them optimise their research. Their platform is even being used by companies making vaccines for Covid-19!
They currently don''t have an office, but will be taking up a space in Edinburgh in the coming months and you will be expected to be local enough to come in to the office full-time when safe to do so.
The company follow an agile working method with progress boards, daily team meeting to keep everyone involved and informed as projects evolve.
The role:
You will provide 1st line support to both internal users and external clients, and their clients are located all around the world. You will be responsible for clarifying, troubleshooting, and finding the best solutions to problems and staying within SLAs. You will escalate problems when appropriate and be able to identify when to raise issues with colleagues when appropriate. Ideally, you will want to learn and progress, and show a keen attitude to work with unfamiliar technologies and pick up new skills. You could move your career in many directions here - either into software development, data analytics or further into IT infrastructure/deployment.
There is a rotational shift pattern: 8:00-16:00, 9:00-17:00 and 12:00-20:00
Desired Experience:
- Technical Service Desk experience
- Experience working directly with customers and be able to deal with issues quickly and efficiently
- Experience with various operating systems, primarily Windows and Linux
- Technical experience of working with infrastructure, either cloud or on premise
- Experience of working within ITIL guidelines
Desirable skills/experience (not necessary to apply and a good flavour of new tech you can pick up) -
- ITIL Foundation Qualification
- Previous experience of supporting Cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure.
- Knowledge of Office 365, SharePoint and the Microsoft Suite
- Experience of programming, databases or version control software
