Technical Solution Engineer: Microsoft Infrastructure Solutions

Purpose:

To provide project consulting, 3rd level support, documentation and solution implementations, to T-Systems South Africa and its clients, with a special focus on Microsoft Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions, notably Active Directory (and supporting technologies), Microsoft Exchange and hybrid cloud integration with Office 365.

Formal Education:

Degree/Diploma in Information Technology (Bsc or Bcom Preferred) or equivalent

Experience:

-More than 10 years of experience in Microsoft Infrastructure Solutions and Windows Server engineering

-Microsoft Infrastructure Solution design Implementation (AD, Exchange, Office 365)

-Experience with designing for high availability, disaster recovery and load balancing within the relevant product sets

-Advanced troubleshooting experience with other teams and vendors including Microsoft, firewall, network storage and hardware expert.

-Understanding, negotiating and guiding customer solution requirements to meet product and industry best practice

-echnical/Legal Certification:

-Relevant Vendor Certifications (MCSE Windows Server and MCSE Exchange)

Responsibilities:

-Microsoft Solution design and implementation, including security, with a focus on Active Directory, Exchange, DNS, DHCP, WINS, GPO, AD LDS, AD CA, AD RMS, Azure AD, Office 365 (Exchange Online and Hybrid Integration).

-Documenting designs, implementations, operations guides and troubleshooting guides

-Handover of solutions to operations teams 

-Ongoing improvements and platform maintenance, including version management

-Client and internal presentations as requeste

-Assist with projects, escalations, troubleshooting, best practice

-Adhere to Incident, Problem and Change Management principles

Key Competencies 

-Microsoft Enterprise Infrastructure architecture, including high availability, performance and capacity planning

-Advanced Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Azure AD, Exchange, DNS, DHCP, WINS, GPO, AD FS, AD LDS, AD CA, AD RMS, Office 365 (Exchange Online and hybrid Integration), TCP/IP, Firewalls, Load Balancing, Internet, Powershell, Telnet, event viewer zand performance monitor. 

-Hardware configuration, sizing, installation, maintenance and management

-Automation and PowerShell scripting

-Security principles and configurations

-Disaster recovery architecture and principle

-Knowledge of current TSSA dynamic platforms would be an advantage

-Initiative and self-motivation

-Proactive and entrepreneurial, with strong business skills
